JERVIS BAY WEATHER
The part of this bioregion that occurs in South Eastern New South Wales is dominated by a temperate climate, characterised by warm summers and no dry season. The prevailing summer wind is a fresh breeze from the North East generally rising in the mid- morning. In certain conditions strong, hot ,dry winds from the North West occur creating an unstable atmosphere and are associated with very low levels of humidity. On extremely hot days, a cool, relieving southerly wind, often referred to as a “Southerly Buster”, blows in quite strongly in the late evening and subsides through the night. The average number of sunshine hours (Sun un-obscured by any cloud) is 9 hours in January and 7 hours on February.
