Day two of Hobie® 16 Masters Class picks up speed.
Day two in the Masters Class delivered a solid mornings racing with 58 competitors starting on course 1g0 at 1.0 nautical miles and a gusty NE wind blowing 18-21 knots, making plenty of action and fortunately no injuries on the water for race three.
South Africans William and Lucinda Edwards got off well in the third race starting out in the in the lead but on the second beat were passed by Mark Larufa from Italy who was making the right decisions and held on to take it across the line.
Wind continued to build to 25-30+ knots and as safety of racers is paramount, the race committee put all sailors on hold for the fourth race, wind continued at 30+ knots and closed out racing for the day.
Racing will resume again tomorrow with winds expected between 8-20 knots from the North East for what should be a great day on the water.
